Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary- Education Services, Jeol Kamoko, has called for partnerships with the private sector in the provision of education in the country.
Mr. Kamoko has said Government has deliberatly prioritized education because it is aware that is a catalyst to national development.
The Education Permanent Secretary was speaking in North-Western Province after touring schools under the Educore Services.
He added that he was happy with what he saw at all the schools and said that it is what he wants to see replicated in all public schools.
“We have reformed the school curriculum to ensure that it provides the required competences and responds to developmental aspirations and goals of the country. To make this a reality we want to partner with institutions such as Educore Services in dealing with the reformed curriculum.” Mr. Kamoko said.
Among the schools Mr. Kamoko and his delegation toured are Trident College Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila, Sentinel School Kabitaka, Sentinel School Kalumbila and Frontier School Nkisu.
Mr. Kamoko’s visit was at the invitation of Educore Services.
And Educore Services Founder and chief Executive Officer Andrew Whittal said the vision for his organization is to develop people by provision of education.
He said Educore Services looks forwards to partner with government in the education sector.
Mr. Whittal added the work that Educore Services is doing in the education sector is aimed at fostering prosperity and national development.
Educore Services in Zambia was created through a partnership with First Quantum Minerals to develop schools in North Western Province.
Educore has founded six schools in North-Western offering education to children from nursery up to grade 12, as well as a teacher training college.
The Schools under Educore Services are Educore Teachers Academy, Trident College Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Solwezi, Trident Preparatory School Kalumbila, Sentinel School Kabitaka, Sentinel School Kalumbila and Frontier School Nkisu.
