Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has released the results in Lusaka today saying the pupils progressing to Grade EIGHT represent 69.72 percent of those who sat for the exams.

Mr. SYAKALIMA said 454,213 Zambian candidates sat for the grade SEVEN exams.

The Minister said 137,523 candidates obtained division 4 and will not proceed to grade EIGHT.

Mr. SYAKALIMA added that 291,894 candidates sat for Grade NINE exams.

And Examination Council of Zambia Director MICHAEL CHILALA says the grade 7 and 9 exams where leakage-free.

Dr. CHILALA said the grading of grade 7 has changed as it is no longer automatic progression but will be based on the pupil passing the exams.
